Founded in 1973, the Paul Sacher Foundation is an international research center dedicated to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Since 2008, the streaming platform Medici.tv has specialized in the audiovisual production and distribution of classical music and jazz. It offers a dedicated catalogue featuring Pierre Boulez, as both conductor and composer.
Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique
A unique place dedicated to musical creation and scientific research, the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (Ircam) holds numerous archives related to Pierre Boulez, its founder: concerts, conferences, workshops…, accessible from the institution’s resource center.
Ensemble intercontemporain

Collège de France
Pierre Boulez taught at the Collège de France from 1977 to 1995, in the chair titled "Invention, Technique, and Language in Music". Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris
The CNSMDP is the leading French public institution for the transmission of musical and choreographic arts. The Hector Berlioz Media Library holds numerous documents and testimonies from former students and their professors, including several related to Pierre Boulez and his work. The Media Library is also the repository for the collection of the Centre de documentation de la musique contemporaine (CDMC).
Universal Edition
In 1952, Universal Edition became the publisher of Pierre Boulez. On the occasion of the centenary, the publishing house has compiled a catalogue listing all the scores and works related to Pierre Boulez published by Universal Edition.
New York Philharmonic
The archives of the New York Philharmonic hold numerous documents related to Pierre Boulez, who was the orchestra’s music director from 1971 to 1977. On the occasion of the composer and conductor’s centenary, the NY Digital Archives have created a retrospective of Pierre Boulez’s career in New York. The New York Philharmonic Shelby White & Leon Levy Digital Archives has also digitized and made available more than 13,000 pages of archival materials from his tenure.
Cleveland Orchestra
Pierre Boulez conducted the Cleveland Orchestra for the first time in 1965. This marked the beginning of a close collaboration between the conductor and the orchestra, with many concerts and several recordings made together. The Cleveland Orchestra holds some archival material documenting this musical partnership. On the occasion of Pierre Boulez’s centenary, the orchestra has created a commemorative webpage using its archives.
Südwestrundfunk
Early on, Pierre Boulez collaborated with the Südwestfunkorchester Baden-Baden, particularly during the Donaueschinger Musiktage. The archives of Südwestrundfunk (SWR) hold numerous concert recordings as well as photographs documenting this rich collaboration.
